The Stack O’Smelt™ troll provides 3 foot spacing between the downrigger ball and the release. This provides a good distance above the School O’Smelt™ to get your lure or fly right into the approaching fish’s vision. This year we have added double the large beads which help in lifting the downrigger ball in and out of the water without hurting your fingers
The Stack O’Smelt™ attaches directly to the downrigger ball and the 3 large blades provide great action with little blowback. This troll also converts the sonic signature of the downrigger ball into a bait ball of fish. The reliability of this troll is paramount – we make sure all crimps are perfect so maximum tensile strength is achieved.
